IMPORTANT: For the 2013 Ride this leg will now be from Aintree to Ludlow.
On your way to Ludlow you’ll ride through the leafy Cheshire lanes. With 107 miles to do and with “only” 2,386 ft of climbing, you might think it’s an easy day. The route travels south, running parallel with the Welsh border, and you’ll cross both the Manchester Ship Canal and the River Severn. Ticking off the UK sights! Whilst crossing the Cheshire Plains, it is a good time to save a bit in the legs, as the last few miles are over some good climbs, heading over Wenlock Edge and towards Ludlow Racecoure for a nice cold beer.
