EVENT POSTPONEMENT: YOUR OPTIONS EXPLAINED

We have been pursuing every possible avenue to mitigate the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic on your event calendars, whilst protecting the health of everyone involved, including the general public. However, having taken on board all the advice from the UK Government, the World Health Organisation and others, we have made the very tough decision to postpone this year’s Deloitte Ride Across Britain to 2021.

The confirmed event date for next year is 4-12th September 2021.

We appreciate this will be very disappointing for many of you who have already put in significant amounts of training, started raising money for charity and potentially committed to additional costs.

CHARITY PARTICIPANTS

We are in contact with all our charity partners, including non-partner charities. We have asked them to let us know by the end of April if they would like to continue their partnership with us and the part-funding of your place into 2021. If your charity decides not to continue with us, we will be in touch directly to let you know your options.

1a. Join us in 2021: Paid full amount upfront

We will automatically defer all places to the event in 2021. If you can make it along, we would love to have you there!

There is no action required. As soon as we launch next year’s event, we will contact you with details of how to claim your free of charge entry.

We will refund all of your extras such as merchandise, laundry, trackers in the next 3 weeks. If you have purchased bike and rider transfer through EBE, please contact them directly for their refund policy.

1b. Join us in 2021: Paying in instalments

We will automatically defer all places to the event in 2021. If you can make it along, we would love to have you there!

If you would like to withhold this balancing payment

We understand these are difficult times and cashflow is an important consideration for many of you. In these unprecedented circumstances we want to provide as much flexibility as possible. Unfortunately, our payment platform doesn’t allow us to change the dates of these final payments. However, there are two options available:

  1. Cancel the payment through your bank
  2. Contact us via e-mail and we will refund the final instalment to you after it is taken

With both these options, we will be in touch when the 2021 event goes on sale later this year with details of how you can claim your free of charge entry. We will also let you know when the balancing payment for 2021 will be taken.

We are sorry there isn’t a simpler solution, but we are restricted by the system we have in place.

We will refund all instalments requested and all extras such as merchandise, laundry, trackers within the next 3 weeks. If you have purchased bike and rider transfer through EBE, please contact them directly for their refund policy.

If you are happy for this final payment to be taken there is no action required.

We will be in touch when the 2021 event goes on sale later this year with details of how you can claim your free of charge entry.

We will refund all instalments requested and all extras such as merchandise, laundry, trackers within the next 3 weeks. If you have purchased bike and rider transfer through EBE, please contact them directly for their refund policy.

2. Transfer to a friend

If you can’t make next year’s date, we’re waiving any participant transfer fees so you can transfer your place to a friend, family member, colleague or total stranger you think would benefit from riding end to end of the UK.

If this is the option for you, there is no action needed now. We will be in touch when the 2021 events go on sale later this year with instructions on how to do this. The deadline for this option has been extended until 31st December 2020.

We will also refund all your extras such as parking, shuttles, trackersiTabs or merchandise in the next 3 weeks.

3. None of these options work for me

We would love every one of you to be able to join us in 2021 for what we hope will be an unforgettable year back out on the Ride. However, we understand the above options may not work for everyone. Therefore, you also have the option of receiving an 80% refund of your original entry fee.

To claim this, please complete THIS FORM by the 5pm on the 12th June 2020After this date we will revert to the original terms and conditions you signed up to and we will no longer be able to refund your fee.

Once requested, please allow up to 2 weeks for your refund to be processed.

Essential Event Information (to be updated for 2021)

Spring Training Day Cancellation

In light of the most recent update from the Government on the COVID-19 virus, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel the upcoming Spring Training Day.

By acting now, we are still able to recoup some of the costs and therefore can offer you a full refund for your entry fee (booking fees are non-refundable). Or if you prefer, you can donate your entry fee to one of our partner charities.

How do I get my refund?

  • There is no action required, we will process all refunds (excluding booking fees) on Monday 30th March. This will take 3-5 working days to reach your bank account.

How do I donate to a partner charity?

  • Click here to let us know which charity you would like to donate your entry fee to by Monday 30th March and we will do the rest for you.
  • Our partner charities this year are: The Prince’s Trust, Alzheimer’s Society, Cancer Research UK, Macmillan, Parkinson’s UK, Prostate Cancer UK

This will be published in August.

Live Event Trackers

In partnership with Open Tracking, you can now hire a GPS tracker for the duration of the event!

Your tracker will provide accurate location data, available online for your friends and family to view, so they can see how well you’re progressing along the route. This is NOT linked to your event timing, but it does mean your supporters can see more accurately where you are throughout the event and how close you are to the finish line!
