Gold Charity Spotlight – Macmillan Cancer Support

Partners & Charities

Each year the Babble Ride Across Britain peloton collectively raises over £1m for charities and good causes.

All this week, we’re shining the spotlight on each of our Gold Charity Partners. By opting to fundraise for a Gold Charity, you can secure a spot on the 2024 Babble Ride Across Britain for as little as £499. You’ll commit to a fundraising target of £2,400.

About Macmillan Cancer Support

Right now, more than 3 million people are living with cancer in the UK. By 2030 this figure will rise to 4 million.

Macmillan Cancer Support exist to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can, by providing physical, financial, and emotional support. They’ll do whatever it takes: no matter what a person’s needs are, big or small, Macmillan will listen and support them.

How will my fundraising make a difference?

In 2021, an estimated 2.4m people were reached by Macmillan services. The charity also helped millions more through information and support resources.

In 2022, Team Macmillan cyclists on the Babble Ride Across Britain raised over £300,000 to help the charity be there for people living with cancer. “Our riders fed back to us how very well organised and supported the event was,” Macmillan told us, “as well as the fantastic sense of community that developed amongst all cyclists, Threshold staff and volunteers over the 9 days.

“Our team travelled to meet the Team Macmillan cyclists at a pit-stop on Stage Four, and it was a joy to get to talk to our cyclists about their journey so far, as well as their reasons for fundraising for Macmillan. Threshold themselves are an incredibly well-organised ‘sporting events machine’, ensuring both participants and charity partners alike are kept informed, and incredibly well-supported over the course of an events season.”
