Introducing Jasmijn Muller

Ambassadors

Joining us as a Threshold Ambassador on the 2024 Babble Ride Across Britain is Jasmijn Muller, ultra-endurance cycling coach and founder of Be the Egg Cycle Coaching.

As the 2017 World 24-hour Time Trial Champion, Jasmijn is no stranger to the world of long-distance riding. In 2022, she completed the iconic North Cape Tarifa, the longest unsupported ultra race in Europe. Having completed the 7400km ride in just under 37 days (including a week-long pause due to an injury), it’s fair to say that the Babble Ride Across Britain is a comparatively modest undertaking for Jasmijn, but one she’s looking forward to tackling nonetheless.

“I ride because cycling makes me happy,” she told us. “The endorphins are addictive, the social contacts are my network, and the longer distances satisfy my thirst for adventure and discovery, both of the world around me and myself.”

As a cycling coach, Jasmijn works with athletes of all abilities to help them accomplish their endurance cycling goals. Her mantra – Be the Egg – informs her approach to racing and competing. “The same boiling water that softens the potato, hardens the egg,” she said. “It’s about what you’re made of, not the circumstances.”

“The same boiling water that softens the potato, hardens the egg. It’s about what you’re made of, not the circumstances.”

“I coach because I feel passionate about growth and development, about helping others unlock their potential and about passing on my knowledge and experience to others. My proudest professional accomplishment as a cycling coach is seeing my riders not only flourish in their chosen challenges but also become empowered by fully understanding and embracing the underlying process.”

This June, Jasmijn will be taking on the 5600km Trans Am Bike Race across the United States. We wish her all the best on this endeavour, and a speedy recovery in time for the Babble Ride Across Britain in September!
